From Our Home...Merry Christmas!!

The boys and I had a nice Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful for. I asked the boys what they were thankful for and they both said family. Chris said everyone's name he could think of. When he says his prayers, he thanks God for Jesus to light bulbs to the sheets on his bed. We should all think like a child.

I asked myself what I was most thankful for and I thought for awhile about it. I am most thankful for love, not just any love, true love...God's love. God doesn't pick and choose who He loves, He loves us all. He loves the rich and famous to the poor and lonely but the love is the same, never changing. WOW...that is awesome!!!

Alex, Chris and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Remember those who have less than you and those who need a little love during the holidays! It is always better to give...whether it be with gifts, time, food, or just a helping hand around the house. Show love, God's love to those in need and not just at Christmas, but all year! You will receive the best gift of all if you do this!!

From our home to yours...Merry Christmas!!!

Fall Break at Grandmommy's and Grandaddy's 2009

Alex and Chris had to spend the week in Georgia for fall break. This was not a planned trip to say the least. Last Saturday I received a call from my dad saying he had to take my mom to the ER because she was very sick. So, I feel like I dumped the boys off on Grandmommy and Grandaddy! Mom seemed to be having some of the same symptoms she did when she had her TIA stroke back in 2000. Without a clearing of his throat, Grandaddy jumped in his truck and was here within 45 minutes to get the boys for me! I have great in-law's! I only packed the boys a few pairs of clothes and off they went to C-town, GA!!!

When I got to the hospital, they had mom turn up on her head! They were trying to get her BP up because it was 53/80 when she got to the ER. They went ahead and admitted her because they wanted to run more test on Sunday. The nurse came in and told her she had a germ in her stomach and mom just about freaked out! I laugh about it now. She sat straight up and said, "me of all people have a GERM!!!" For those of you who know mom can here her saying that and see why now I laugh. They never checked her for a stroke and I am still upset about that. She is still not feeling up to par. I told her she needs to talk with her regular doctor and let him check for it.

So, the boys had to stay with Grandmommy and Grandaddy and their cousins...Jonathan and Caleb all week. They had a blast! Grandmommy and Grandaddy live on a farm...nothing else needs to be said. 4wheelers and golf cart and all the land and critters a boy could ask for. Grandaddy built a fort in the back pasture out of hay bails and as you can see in the picture, the boys loved it. I think this was the best fall break yet and we owe it all to the Grandparents!!! All four boys had a blast and they slept in the basement without an adult! WOW...they are growing up too fast!

What a week!

Wow...what a week we have had. I was out sick on Friday, September 18th and Alex got sick with the flu. He ran a fever for 3 days and he tested positive for type A flu. He was out of school all week and I was out of work with him all week. He enjoyed being out but said he missed school and his friends. He said he was ready to get back to school this next week. He is better but still has a nasty cough. We got out today for the first time and went to church. He was happy.

Chris was a big boy and rode the bus to and from school all by himself all week. He missed at school though. He is doing great at school. All 1oo's with a few B's...this is much better than last year! And he looks so cute in his glasses! It always helps if you can see!!!

I also went to a wedding on the 19th. This was for my brother's daughter (my new found niece and brother). His name is Todd Morgan. This is my dad's son that I never knew about. I just found out about him a few years ago and was very excited. I had a great time just hanging out with him and his family! This is him in the picture with me!

First week of school!

I can't believe we have almost completed the first week of school! The boys were so excited to start back. I walked them in the first day and I accomplished embarrassing Alex. Way to go Mom!! I didn't mean to though. Chris was a little uneasy but when I picked them up he told me he had a good day and made a new friend. I was so happy. Chris is now wearing glasses and he wasn't sure about them. He was afraid of getting made fun of but today he told me he was going to wear them all the time, not just to read or watch television. He has also made two more new friends and one is a girl that he smiled about. Whoa...Chris has never really noticed girls before except for just a friend but she has showed him that she likes him. She drew him a picture of them holding hands...too funny!!
We haven't had any homework this week so I guess we need to watch out for next week.

Boys last week of summer!

The boys are excited about school starting again. They miss their friends and I think we are all ready to get back on schedule. They have had a great summer of swimming, beach, and mountains...what more could you ask for. They were able to spend this summer with Nanny and Paw and a week at Grandmommy's! The week at grandmommy's Alex wrecked the golf cart and one of the 4wheeler's. He ran into a tree with both. Needless to say, he will be restricted from those for awhile. They have been fishing with Paw and Grandaddy this summer. Grandaddy took all 4 of the grandboys to the lake in Alex City where they fished, swam and went tubing. When Grandaddy brought them home...he was totally worn out! He took them by himself!! They have had a great summer...but it is time for school once again.

I wonder what this year will have in store for us. Alex has Mrs. Shiflett again this year and he will have the same exact class he had in second grade. Mrs. Shiflett moved from 2nd to 3rd and she will have her same class as last year. Alex is excited because he will be in the same classroom as his friends Sam, Gavin and Simeon...his best buds! Chris will also be in Mrs. Young's room again. She did not move up, Chris is repeating the 1st grade again. I wanted to hold him back because I thought it would help him more. He is excited about meeting new friends and doing an even better job this year. Our outlook is good :)

Stone Mountain

Alex and Chris at Stone Mountain for Alex's 9th Birthday. We had a blast! We took the ride up to the top of the mountain then we walked down it. The boys were tired! They loved playing on the rocks and jumping around on them. The lazer show was awesome! Alex said he would remember this day for the rest of his life.

Last week of summer!

Well, the boys are excited to be going back to school. I really can't believe they said that! I am ready so we can get back on schedule. We have had a great summer. We starting it with leaving for the beach the day the boys got out of school. We went to Panama City Beach and had a great time. The boys loved the ocean! I could not keep them out of it! The ocean was beautiful while we were there and I am so glad. Nanny and Amber went with us and they had fun too!

The boys and I took the Pirate Cruise while we were there and they had so much fun on it. They found lost treasure and helped to pull it out of the water. They had to scrub the decks and work on the ship to earn their prices. We picked up some Pirate swords, rings and money while we were there.
