End of Summer fun!

Well it is that time again...back to school!!! The summer has just went too fast for me and the boys. I still have so much I want to do with them before August 9th but we did have fun the past couple of days. I took off work so we could just get up and go/do whatever came to mind. We slept in on Thursday and left the house around lunchtime heading to Birmingham. We went to the Southern Flight Museum, McWane, and Vulcan. The boys favorite was the Southern Flight Museum. Chris was all smiles being around all those airplanes. If this boy doesn't get a pilot's license or become a pilot-he will have missed his calling. He has loved planes his whole life.

On Friday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke with my mom, Dalton and Courtney. Alex was our tour guide through World of Coke since he went on a field trip there before school got out. We loved the 4D movie and tasting all the different flavors from all over the world. My favorite was from South Africa--Bibo pine nut--it was coconut...yummy! The Beverly was nasty!! We all got our free coke but Courtney's exploded on the way home. It was quiet scarring. It sounded like a gun shot...

Mom loved the aquarium! She was just amazed. Mom never goes anywhere to see anything. It is different from the Tennessee Aquarium. I liked it alot better because there seems to be more to see. The boys loved the sharks and could have sat there and watched them swim the entire day. We got to see them feed the whale shark which was neat. Mom's favorite part was the tropical fish. She liked the pink ones of course! Then it was time to end home.

On Saturday, we just stayed around the house and the boys swam. We decided late afternoon to go get something to eat and go to the movies to see Despicable Me. I took the boys to Fugi's. They have never been there before and we sat on the chef side. They loved that part well, Alex did not like watching his food being cooked right in front of him. He said it made him sick to his stomach to see the raw food. They both got nicknames from the chef. Chris was no eyebrows (he said the fire burned them off) and Alex was skinny boy! We got to celebrate Alex's birthday again with the Japanese celebration song, ice cream and a hat! Then it was off to the movies then home to swim again. And to end the weekend, the boys are off to Georgia for a few days at Grandmommy/daddy's farm! What a way to end summer fun!
Next blog will be about back to school....

My 1st Trip to Washington D.C.

Robert and I on the rooftop!

Robert and I at the game!

Me in front of the capital.

I like this picture.

This is about as close as I got.

Hello everyone! I thought I would share my first time flying and trip to D.C.

I flew for the first time on July 2nd by myself to visit a friend in D.C. and I had a blast! I don't think I could have planned to go on a better weekend than 4th of July! I may not have been the typical tourist but I did get to experience some of the D.C. life. My friend Robert is in the Coast Guard stationed in D.C. right now and had invited me to come up for a visit. I finally took him up on it and I am so glad I did. We partied on the rooftop of the Donovan House downtown D.C., Washington Nationals game, fireworks at the capital and Lincoln park.

SCHOOL'S OUT!!!!

Well, baseball season is coming to an end and I finally have a few pictures. Alex has enjoyed playing and has made some new friends. He has starting making contact with the ball the past few games and I have been very proud of him for coming so far. Here are a few pictures...

We have also had a birthday party for both Alex and Chris at the Truman Gym. The boys each invited some friends and cousins. They had a blast swimming away!

Then we had Awards Day...Chris received in the classroom Super Helper Award and the Principal's Award. I am so very proud of my Christopher. He has worked so hard this year and has achieved and grown so much. I think he is going to do just fine in 2nd grade.

Alex received in the classroom Mr. BusyHand's Award. He also received a certificate, a medal and a t-shirt for all year A/B Honor Roll. I am very proud of my Al for getting all A's and B's again this year.

We are glad summer is here! We have no plans for a summer vacation but we may take a weekend trip somewhere. Not sure where or what yet. We hope everyone will have a wonderful summer!

This is the first time he has ever said he wanted to play a sport. We signed up on the last day and had tryouts all in the same day!!!! We barely made it!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on! I hope to have some new pictures up soon with more news to follow! I will try to do better at posting! Oh and twenty~ten has been wonderful so far! God is in control of everything!!! I couldn't be happier :)

Many Blessings in 2010...A year of new beginnings!

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. The boys and I had a very blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year. As you can see in the picture above, we went to see the Christmas lights at Noccalula Falls. This was our first time going and we loved it! It was so much fun. The boys got to decorate cookies, drink hot chocolate, talk with Santa and see a very pregnant goat. She was our most favorite thing about the Falls.
This picture was taken Christmas Eve at my parents house. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve because Santa came to our house a day early! The boys were so excited and played all morning until time to go visit MamaRuth, my brother and Nanny and PawPaw. We had a wonderful time at Tracy's and he fed us too! He had his house decorated with lights everywhere...it made it very cozy and I was/am very proud of him for doing it. The food and the company was great!

I had to put this picture on here...it was just too funny not to share! Nanny bought the boys silly glasses and we all had to wear them and the funniest thing was Nanny could see just fine out of them...that woman is blind as a bat!!!
We would just like to wish everyone many blessings in the new year of "twenty-ten"! Brother Bill has titled this year "Begin again in 2010" to which I think is great. He preached that we need to leave whatever burdens we have been carrying with Jesus and begin again not to pick them up again. Jesus died on that cross for our sins and to carry our worries and our burdens for us. He doesn't want us to live day after day and year after year with the same sin, the same hurt, the same burdens...leave them at Jesus feet and start fresh and new this year. Happy New Year!
